Boston Marathon 2006
April 20th, 2006
What a weekend! Boston is a great town. There’s so much to do, and the trains made it very easy to get around.
The race is historic. This was the 110th running of the event. Over 20,000 runners, and it seemed like a million spectators. In some sections of the course it was 20 people deep on both sides of the road. Tremendous crowd support. Boston loves its marathon.
But it’s not its first love. After crossing the finish line, a guy next to me asked a race volunteer, “Who won today?”
She said, “the Red Sox.”
He laughed and said, “No - who won the marathon?”
For the record I finished in 3:23.
